Abstrak

The phenomenon of baby dumping crime by biological parents in Bandar Lampung City occurs almost every year. This research aims to identify the factors causing and efforts to overcome the crime of baby dumping by biological parents. The methods used in this research are normative juridical and empirical juridical methods. The results show that the factors that cause the crime of baby dumping by biological parents consist of internal factors and external factors.The internal factors are that the perpetrator feels ashamed for having a child out of wedlock, the perpetrator experiences psychological pressure due to the burden he experiences so that he feels unable and not ready to become a parent, and the perpetrator has low morality. Meanwhile, external factors in the form of religious, film, and economic factors, all of which are interrelated with each other with internal factors that cause the perpetrator to become pregnant outside of marriage to commit the crime of baby dumping Efforts to overcome the crime of baby dumping by biological parents are carried out through penal and non-penal efforts.
